Abstract

A comparative study of the accuracy of several novel-modelling techniques for simulating two section laser devices was discussed. The effect of phase, photon distribution and modelling techniques used was studied and the discrepancies between photon density and electric field based model were elaborated. The segmented rate equation and the Essex distributed time domain model (eDTDM) were also analyzed.
