<jats:p>A generalized triangle group is a group with a presentation</jats:p><jats:p><jats:italic>GT</jats:italic>(<jats:italic>l</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>m</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>n</jats:italic>; <jats:italic>w</jats:italic>) = 〈<jats:italic>a</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>b</jats:italic> | <jats:italic>a</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>l</jats:italic></jats:sup> = <jats:italic>b</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>m</jats:italic></jats:sup> = <jats:italic>w</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>n</jats:italic></jats:sup> = 1〉;</jats:p><jats:p>where <jats:italic>l</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>m</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>n</jats:italic> [ges ] 2, and <jats:italic>w</jats:italic> is a cyclically reduced word in the free product on {<jats:italic>a</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>b</jats:italic>}. In the setting of one-relator products of cyclic groups, Fine <jats:italic>et al.</jats:italic> [<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>] calculated their Euler characteristics for <jats:italic>n</jats:italic> [ges ] 3 under certain conditions on the defining word <jats:italic>w</jats:italic>.</jats:p>
