Comments on the constitutional reforms proposed in the July 2007 Green Paper entitled The Governance of Britain. Discusses the background to the reforms, their aims and scope, and key elements including modernisation of the voting arrangements, the possible creation of a Bill of Rights and Duties and reform of the judicial appointments process. Considers omissions from the reform package, the areas in which political support is likely, the controversial elements and the next steps in the process. Includes a table summarising the principal reforms.
