Abstract
The partial illumination of a metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector (MSM-PD) was modeled using a one-dimensional drift-diffusion approach. Results obtained with the model compare well with the experimental data. The modeling showed that the transient response is determined by a combination of displacement and carrier currents.
