Abstract
'A considered Cut' is a PaR film by Judah Attille presented as part of Paul Mellon/Tate Britain Cutting Edge: Collage in Britain conference. Research participants include Judah Attille; Somatic acting artist-researcher-educator, Christina Kapadocha (@christinakapadocha); Artist, educator, author, researcher, Ilga Leimanis (@ilgaleimanis); Independent curator and writer, Taylor Le Melle (@melrose_tay) with Filmmaker Ibrahim Kargbo (@ikrgb0); Artist-filmmaker, Rhea Storr (@rheastorr). Together, they instigated a critical enquiry into understanding how a somatic intervention prepares an ‘actor’ at the point of mark-making, the outcomes of transferring drawing skills from non-time-based media to the time-based medium of film and the potential of collage as an aid for planning.
