Abstract
This volume testifies to the diversity and value of research across the broad territory of social welfare law, policy and practice, which forms a significant part of ‘the landscape of administrative justice’ (Le Sueur, Sunkin and Murkens, 2019: 559). This chapter is concerned with developing a research agenda across this territory from an administrative justice perspective, specifically by extending arguments made by the UK Administrative Justice Institute (UKAJI) in its Research Roadmap for Administrative Justice (UKAJI, 2018).1 After looking at key characteristics of an administrative justice approach, we consider strategic challenges to research agenda setting in this context. We then highlight areas that justify inclusion in a future research agenda and summarise their broader implications for academics, researchers, government and funding organisations.
