Paul Hunt, UN Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, has launched for public consultation draft Human Rights Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Companies in relation to Access to Medicines. Consisting of some 50 provisions, the draft Guidelines were launched on 19 September 2007 at the University of Toronto, Canada. They are available for comment until 15 May 2008. It is important that the consultative process is as transparent as possible. Accordingly, we are approaching the authors of all comments received on or before 25 February 2008 and asking permission to place their comments in the public domain.
