Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive literature review and market evaluation of camera tracking and its related applications in the broadcast industry. The current commercial camera tracking hardware and software are outlined. The key market players for developing these systems are also introduced. Moreover, the applications of the camera tracking are discussed, and popular tracking software is compared. By surveying the current industry on broadcast camera tracking and VR, it is clear that the prospect of the camera tracking and VR business are broad and many advanced automatic camera tracking systems will be developed for VR within the broadcast markets soon.
