Abstract
Other than general familiarity with worldwide directions and volume of international population movements, we know embarrassingly little about research agendas and explanatory approaches in the study of (im)migration as practices in parts of the globe other than our own. The intention of this collection of essays on (im)migration research in (i)Southeast Asia; (ii)Sub-Saharan Africa; (iii)Italy as a new immigration country vs. Western Europe; (iii)Canada vs. the United States; and (iv)the United States vs. Europe is to initiate an interregional exchange.
