Abstract
Alzheimer Disease International (ADI) estimates that more than 35 million people around the world are living with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. Patients in an early stage of the disease need regular checkups to control their care needs or problems that may arise, such as the development of confusion and short-term memory loss, among others. Usually, the person with dementia is supported by the family or by specialized personnel. In some cases the caregiver is not a relative of the patient. The amount of care needed depends on the degree of dementia, but in all cases when dementia begins, specialized attention is immediately required. The objective of this project is to present a model based on fuzzy logic that allows a balance between independence and security in an intelligent environment for monitoring and care of people with Alzheimer’s. This model will react according to the initial data given and that received from the environment throughout the monitoring process.
