Abstract
There are standards and then there are standards. And some of our standards are not standard enough! Ruth Puttick’s recent report for the Alliance for Useful Evidence, Mapping the Standards of Evidence used in UK social policy, helpfully shone a spotlight on the range of standards of evidence that are currently being used in UK social policy and practice areas. There is clearly an appetite for the use of standardised processes in the evidence ecosystem, and the time is ripe for examining how we collectively approach this standardisation.
