Abstract
This chapter critically evaluates the justification for the current exclusion of experts on the psychology of witnessing in terms of the idea that they are not necessary for the proper resolution of dispute. It examines whether this "necessity" test is doctrinally justified and then whether such experts can in fact contribute to the proper resolution of disputes
