Abstract
This chapter focuses on end-of-life care, and ‘palliative care’ is also addressed. This should help healthcare professionals manage a complex and valuable area of care. National policy, legislation, with guidance, and frameworks will be explored further while encouraging critical thinking and reflection. This chapter will also consider more personal impact on individuals within this sphere of care and at the same time draw upon some of the authors' own experiences. An overlap between end-of-life care and palliative is inevitable. This chapter provides the context; however end-of-life care will be explored as the focus. Due to confidentiality, all personal details will be anonymised using pseudonyms.
