Outlines the research methodology employed, the nature of negotiation and settlement in the context of judicial review, the main findings concerning levels of withdrawal and settlement at every stage, and the results of the settlements. Discusses the factors that may promote or inhibit settlement, including the quality of communications between defendant solicitors and their clients.
