Abstract
<jats:p>Electoral participation has become increasingly skewed by class and age inequality. Some groups are much more influential at the ballot box than others. <jats:bold>Sarah Birch</jats:bold> argues the case for making turnout compulsory, which she asserts would lead to improvements in political, social and procedural fairness</jats:p>
