Abstract
This chapter addresses shifts towards 'New Nollywood' or 'New Nigerian cinema' and its relationship to established conceptions and practices of Nollywood video films. A close analysis of Biyi Bandele's adaptation of the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel Half of a Yellow Sun charts the development, marketing, and reception of the film in comparative media contexts.
